Birmingham Teen Killed While Intervening In Domestic Dispute

A 19-year-old was shot and killed in north Birmingham Monday morning.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A dispute between two people living in the same north Birmingham home resulted in a 19-year-old Birmingham man's death. Travio Ollison was shot and killed Monday just after 9 a.m.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said Ollison reportedly intervened in a verbal altercation between two people who lived at a residence in the 1900 block of Druid Hill Drive.

"Both parties called the victim and the suspect to the location who intervened in the dispute," Mauldin said. "A physical altercation ensued and Ollison was shot. The suspect was taken into custody and is being questioned by detectives."

Ollison's death is one of multiple shooting deaths in Birmingham over the last few days, and the 27th so far in 2021.
