Human Remains Found In West Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Human remains discovered in Dora Saturday might be Douglas Nolan Ryan Watson, who has been missing since March 8, 2020. The remains were found near the 5800 block of Littleton-Kilgore Road.

Multiple volunteer search organizations, including Equusearch, partnered with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at the Dora location to conduct a search for Watson. The remains are currently unidentified, pending examination by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Jefferson County Detectives conducted an extensive investigation into Watson’s disappearance, but have been unable to locate him.

"The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone who participated in the search," Sgt. Joni Money said. "While, the discovery of these remains is heartbreaking, we are hopeful that someone’s family will gain some peace from finally having answers."
