Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:
- The Birmingham Zoo's newest addition, Josh the African lion, joined the zoo's other African lion, Akili. The process of getting Josh started back in November after Kwanza passed away. With the help of the African Lion SAFE Program, the zoo was able to safely facilitate the lion transfer. (Bham Now)
- Opportunities for the University of Alabama at Birmingham theater students is booming since the opening of the Red Mountain Theatre. The new campus features scenery and costume shops, theaters, an audio booth, sprung-floor rehearsal rooms, and more. RMT will have a significant impact on UAB graduates and their future careers. - Veteran actor Malik Yoba brought his documentary series, The Real Estate Mixtape, to Birmingham to teach and inspire young people of color. The documentary shows how Yoba got into real estate, as well as attempts to persuade young people to enter the industry so they can change their communities. (WBRC)
