Man Fatally Shot Outside Apartment: Birmingham Police
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Dana Boyd II. Birmingham police are currently looking for suspects.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham Police Department has identified a man fatally shot outside an apartment building Thursday evening. Police said Dana Boyd II, 31, of Birmingham, died from a gunshot wound.
According to police, around 5:05 p.m., officers responded to 440 4th Street North for reports of a person shot.
When they arrived on scene, officers said they found Boyd lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a preliminary investigation suggests the victim was outside the apartment with friends
when two suspects approached and shot Boyd. The suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of police.
At this time, there are no suspects in custody and detectives said they have not established a
motive.
