Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:

  1. The Birmingham Police Department has arrested three individuals following a stolen vehicle pursuit that occurred late Thursday morning. One male suspect is still on the run. Thankfully no residents or officers were injured during the incident. The three individuals taken into custody are currently being treated for minor injuries. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  2. The Greater Birmingham Humane Society has suspended dog adoptions. The suspension was reportedly necessary after a recent distemper exposure. Cat adoptions are still available as they are not affected by the recent virus exposure. There are currently three dogs at the shelter infected with the virus with the source still under investigation. (AL.com)
  3. Rise Properties is planning on building a new 265-unit multifamily complex in Jefferson County. The property will be located at 2658 and 2688 Rocky Ridge Lane and 2744 and 2750 Old Rocky Ridge Road.
