Robbery At Birmingham Convenience Store Under Investigation

Police posted security footage of a robbery at The Korner Kupboard at 401 Lawson Road on social media Wednesday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham Police Department detectives are conducting a robbery investigation, after The Korner Kupboard at 401 Lawson Road was robbed March 1 around 8 p.m..

Detectives request assistance from the public in identifying the suspect in the video posted to social media Wednesday:

In the video, the suspect enters the store and holds the store clerk at gunpoint. The suspect then demands money from the register and obtains an unknown amount of cash from the register.

During the robbery a physical altercation ensued between the suspect and the clerk. The suspect shot the clerk and fled the scene on foot. The clerk's injuries were not life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect arrived at the store in a white sedan with tinted windows. The white sedan left the location when the suspect entered the store
