Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:
- Birmingham Police responded to 32nd Street S.W. and Beulah Avenue Sunday morning where they found a woman found shot to death. The officers arrived at the scene where they found the woman unresponsive in a vehicle that had struck a stop sign. Anyone with information is asked to call Birmingham homicide detectives at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777. (AL.com)
- The end of the school year is right around the corner and parents are looking into summer camps and activities for their kids over the break. While the YMCA of Greater Birmingham is getting ready for campers, organizers are planning to prioritize behavior skills, math, and reading because of the "COVID-19 slide." "We have definitely seen some new challenges that some of our campers are facing," Youth Development Director Rhonda Elmore said. "I think a lot of parents are putting their kids into programs so they can have that exposure and just that socialization with their peers." - Calling all prospective Birmingham homeowners: There are five new houses for sale in the Birmingham area listed over on Patch! Check out all the listings including a home with 4 beds and 2 baths in the Bessemer area for $200,000. (Birmingham Patch)
