Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:

  1. The Hoover Police Department is offering Active Shooter response training to the community. The training is a direct response to an increase in requests by schools, businesses, and community members for directions on dealing with an active shooter event. The first training will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 5:00 p.m. This is a free class. Click for registration information. (Hoover Police Department)
  2. A group searching for a missing Hoover woman discovered human remains in Shelby County. Floriselda Milla Villanueva's friends and family have been searching for her since she went missing on Oct. 16. The human remains were found near the intersection of County Road 10 and County Road 260. The remains have not been identified and the cause of death has not been determined. (AL.com)
  3. A man is being held at the Jefferson County Jail for allegedly setting a fire at a Birmingham synagogue. Gregory Earl Fuller, Jr. allegedly set the fire at Temple Beth-El. He has been charged with second-degree arson and is being held on a $30,000 bond. A preliminary investigation has not found evidence that the fire was racially motivated. (WKRG)
