Hoover Man Charged With Murder In Weekend Homicide

A 32-year-old Hoover man has been charged with murder in the death of 25-year-old Madison Shea Pilkington.

HOOVER, AL — A woman was found dead in her apartment in Hoover Saturday morning, and with the help of nearby police departments, Hoover police have a man in custody in connection with the killing.

The Hoover Police Department said officers responded to The Halston apartment complex after 25-year-old Madison Shea Pilkington was located unresponsive in her apartment by a family member.

"Her family had grown concerned after learning she had not shown up for work," Capt. Keith Czeskleba of the Hoover PD said. "Hoover Fire Medics responded and pronounced the victim deceased."

Investigators determined Pilkington had been assaulted.

The suspect, 32-year-old Cortez Lenarde Warren, was quickly identified and detectives took him into custody Saturday afternoon with the assistance of Fultondale and Irondale Police.

Warren is charged with murder, tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana. He will be transferred to Jefferson County Jail Monday.
