  1. The National Computer Forensics Institute has officially opened its seventh classroom in Hoover. The new classroom is 2,200 square feet. The new addition will allow the Institute to train an additional 1,000 to 1,500 law enforcement individuals. The Institute's space in the Hoover Public Safety Center is now 40,000 square feet. (Hoover Sun)
  2. The Hoover City Council has approved a resolution to partner with Hoover City Schools and Hoover Parks and Recreation Board to add artificial turf to local fields. Eleven baseball and softball fields in Hoover will be transformed into artificial turf. The City of Hoover will be contributing about $9 million towards the project. The artificial turf will allow for more extensive use of the fields. (Hoover Sun)
  3. Jefferson County has changed the location of its Thursday, Oct. 20 Commission meeting. Instead of the usual lower-level courtroom meeting location, the Commission will be meeting in Judge Hobdy's Circuit Courtroom #340 on the third flood. The meeting is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. (Jefferson County)
