Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:
- Hoover girls and boys basketball teams are advancing in the Class 7A Northwest Regional semifinals. The Lady Bucs won 50-20 against James Clemens and will take on Bob Jones next Tuesday at noon in the regional final. The Hoover boys withstood a challenge, beating Austin 65-41, and will play Vestavia Hills in the regional final next Tuesday at 1:45 p.m. (Hoover Sun)
- Ousler Sandwiches, a longstanding sandwich shop in nearby Birmingham, will be relocating its Mountain Brook location to Lane Parke this spring; initially established in 1915 as a wholesale sandwich shop, it grew under the leadership of Christine Elmore and then under her family's ownership, but after 17 years, the current owners, Bill and Becky Elmore, have decided to retire and pass the business onto their daughter and son-in-law, with the new location set to open in late April 2023.
