- Hoover's Garrett Warren has won the two-day MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League tournament. The event was held in Florence, Alabama. He won $5,831 for catching ten bass weighing 35 pounds. Click for the complete list of top ten boaters. (BassCast)
- The Alabama Sports Writers Association has unveiled this week's high school football rankings. Hoover High School's team was ranked fourth with 154 total poll points. The team is currently 5-1. The top-ranked team is Auburn High School with a 6-0 record. (Montgomery Advertiser)
- The Hoover Police Department has arrested three men on breaking and entering charges. The individuals reportedly broke into and stole an SUV on Sunday night. 20-year-old Mario Thomas, 20-year-old Da'Mario Thomas, and 19-year-old Tavares Nelson have been transferred to the Jefferson County Jail. Hoover residents are reminded to lock vehicle doors. (WBRC)
