Body On I-459 Identified As 36-Year-Old Birmingham Man

HOOVER, AL — A body seen on the roadway on I-459 Tuesday afternoon in Hoover has been identified as 36-year-old Tyrez Demetrius Garner of Birmingham.

Hoover Police responded around 1 p.m. Tuesday to I-459 North between the Lorna Road bridge and I-65 to find that a person had been struck by several vehicles. Hoover police began investigating the case and determined the victim had likely been in the roadway for several hours before the incident was reported.

"The investigation has revealed that the male could have been in the roadway as early as 2:30 a.m.," Capt. Keith Czeskleba of the Hoover Police Department said Thursday. "Although the circumstances as to how the victim ended up on the interstate are still being investigated, no foul play is suspected at this time."
