Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:
- The Budweiser Clydesdales will be in Hoover on Thursday, Nov. 10. The world-famous horses will be at the Piggly Wiggly on Tyler Road from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Residents will have the opportunity to get their photo taken with the horses. There will also be an educational show available. (AL.com)
- Jefferson County's William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility is 20 times more deadly than the national average. According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, the facility has had at least four deaths ruled as homicides this year. The facility was at 145 percent capacity in August, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections. (Insider)
- A local organization is working to increase suicide awareness and prevention in Jefferson County Schools. "Fine Art Find Life," "Putting People First," and Birmingham City Schools held a Community Teen Summit Suicide Prevention meeting on Saturday at Woodlawn High School. Participating students were provided with mental health resource information along with a safe space to talk about mental health issues. (ABC3340)
