- Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato served as a celebrity scooper at The Whole Scoop for a fundraising event. The scooping event raised funds for United Way of Central Alabama. According to Brocato, the "United Way is a very good organization that serves a lot of people in our community." James Spann also participated as a celebrity scooper. (Bham Now)
- The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force has captured the second suspect in a Hoover apartment homicide investigation. An'ton Je'ho Ram Lewis, 20 years old, was arrested in the 5500 block of Rime Village Drive on Wednesday morning. He has been charged with capital murder in the slayings of two Hoover women. (AL.com)
- The Hoover City Council has approved a resolution to give the mayor the capability to adjust first responder pay. The resolution will ensure that current first responders are not making less than new hires. The new resolution is an effort to retain public safety employees. (ABC 3340)
