  1. Birmingham-Southern College down the road in Birmingham is requesting state funding to avoid closing the college. The college requested $30 million in state funding. (Alabama's News Leader)
  2. There are eight days left before stores close for Christmas, and shoppers report busy holiday shopping crowds at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover. Like many other stores, Riverchase Gallery plans to close at 6:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve for the holiday. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
