Credit Card Fraud Suspect Identified, Sought By Hoover Police

A man police say used a stolen credit card to make purchases Oct. 21. at Burlington Coat Factory has been identified, but remains at large.

HOOVER, AL — A Homewood man has been identified as a suspect in a credit card fraud case in Hoover. Police are trying to find 46-year-old James Michael Kurth, who was identified as the man seen on security footage using a stolen credit card to make purchases at Burlington Coat Factory Oct. 21.

Hoover police posted photos of the suspect on social media Nov. 19, and tips from the public led to investigators' positive identification of Kurth.

"Currently, Kurth remains at large," Officer Brian Hale said. "He has local ties to the Homewood and Birmingham areas, as well as Deland, Florida. Hoover PD thanks you for all of the tips that came in on this case."
