  1. Over 400 athletes with disabilities will gather in Hoover for The Hartford Nationals this week, the largest and longest-running sports championship of its kind, organized by Move United. The event, running through Jul. 14, combining adult and youth championships, will feature various sports like archery, powerlifting, swimming, and wheelchair tennis. Volunteers are needed for individual competitions and other tasks during the weeklong event, providing an opportunity to support and be a part of this empowering experience. (Yellowhammer News)

Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Mike Bolin vies for the Jefferson County Commission seat in a special election, emphasizing his conservative background and commitment to economic opportunities and law enforcement.
