Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:

  1. Police have arrested three individuals in connection to a series of car burglaries reported in a Hoover apartment complex. Two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old from Bessemer and Fairfield were taken into custody after the police received a call from a witness reporting the suspects breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of the Halston apartments on Autumn Wood Drive. The three suspects attempted to flee the scene but were eventually caught by police, and evidence gathered linked them to four vehicle burglaries. (Alabama's News Leader)
  2. A jewelry heist that occurred at a pawn shop in nearby Pelham on Mar. 6, resulting in the theft of about $20,000 worth of merchandise, may be part of a larger group targeting businesses, according to police. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of other establishments in the area. Anyone with information on the suspects' whereabouts is urged to contact the Pelham Police Department at 205-620-6550 to assist with the investigation. Photos of the suspects are available at the link. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  3. This weekend, numerous Hoover girls will be among those competing for the title of Miss Alabama’s Teen 2023. Hoover’s Christina Norman, Miss North Jefferson Area Teen; Elaina Burt, Miss Jefferson County Teen; and Karrington Channell, Miss Hoover Teen, will compete.
