Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:
- Tomorrow, Sep. 10, the city of Hoover will be hosting a remembrance ceremony and memorial stair climb for the 21st Anniversary of 9/11. The 2022 Hoover Climb to Remember remembrance ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Riverchase Galleria Food Court. The Climb to Remember will start immediately following and will be held in the Galleria Towers. Tickets are not needed to attend the ceremony, however, they are required to participate in the stair climb. (Hoover Sun)
- Next month, Hoover, along with other nearby cities, will be hosting a domestic violence awareness forum. The forum, Protecting our Teens and Young Adults from Dating Violence, is presented by the cities of Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, and Mountain Brook. The event will take place on Oct. 18 at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center at 6:00 p.m. (Twitter)
- A new mental health outpatient center is coming to Hoover. Construction on the center, along with a second facility in Madison, is expected to begin later this year. Longleaf, a new partnership between Birmingham Recovery Center and LIV Ventures, broke ground on Wednesday on the Hoover location. (Al.com)
