- Birmingham and Hoover workers traveled to Selma on Saturday to help clear roadway debris from Thursday's tornado. The Christian Service Mission and Weil Wrecker Service will begin a supply drive for residents impacted by the disaster. Donations will be accepted at Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham on Jan. 17-19 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (WBRC)
- Hoover's head baseball coach Adam Moseley might have to sit out during the 2023 season for violating an Alabama High School Athletic Association rule. In September, Moseley was the pitching coach for the USA Baseball Under 18 National Team, coaching one of his Hoover players. According to guidelines, sports coaches are not allowed to coach their players in competitions outside of the season during the school year. Hoover is going through an appeal process that will get to the Central Board of Control on Wednesday, and if denied, Moseley faces losing his coach spot for the rest of the year. (AL.com)
