Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:

  1. The latest High School Power 25 rankings have been released. Hoover High School earned the fourth rank. The team was previously tied for third. Despite defeating Tuscaloosa County last week 31-3, the team was dropped to fourth. Hoover will be playing Chelsea this Friday at 7:00 p.m. (AL.com)
  2. The Hoover Police Department reports that a suspected burglar is also suspected of numerous property crimes across the county. Diego Hernan Reyes Bahamondes, 35 years old, was arrested for a break-in attempt on Feb. 7, 2021, in Greystone. He now faces extradition to California for similar crimes. (AL.com)
  3. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office reports that a 60-year-old inmate was found unresponsive at the Williamson Donaldson Correctional Facility on Sunday. The inmate was serving a life sentence for murder and robbery. The Coroner's Office reports that no signs of foul play have been detected at this time. (WKRG)
