  1. A Hoover resident has been arrested in connection to a body that was found in a fresh grave in Jefferson County last month. William Vaughan McKnight, 62 years old, has been charged with murder and abuse of the corpse. The body belongs to Zachery Steed Coats of Wildomar, California. Christal Elaine Skelton, 39 years old, had been previously charged in the case. (AL.com)
  2. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reports that a body was located inside a home when authorities responded to a fire on Friday morning. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Weaver Drive shortly after 3:00 a.m. The department's detectives are working to gather information about the fire and the death. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department. (ABC 3340)
  3. The Hoover City Council will be accepting applications for the Hoover Library Board through Monday, Nov. 7. The city will be making an appointment at the City Council meeting on Monday, Nov. 21.
