House Fire Contained By Hoover Firefighters
A house fire in Hoover was contained by firefighters early Monday morning on Chester Street.

HOOVER, AL — Hoover firefighters, with help from the Vestavia Hills Fire Department, were dispatched to a house fire Monday, just after 6 a.m. The fire occurred at 1344 Chester Street.
"Units arrive to find fire showing from the rear of a single family structure," Battalion Chief Duane Prater of the Hoover Fire Department said. "The fire was brought under control quickly."
Occupants of the home were able to evacuate safely, Prater said.

The initial investigation of the fire indicates it started in the kitchen. Hoover FD reports say the home sustained heavy fire damage to at least three rooms and heavy smoke damage throughout.
