Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:
- A moderate crash on I-459 northbound resulted in lane closures through Hoover. The closures caused significant traffic delays throughout the area. The crash occurred past Exit 17 in Birmingham. The Alabama Department of Transportation is asking Hoover travelers to exercise caution while traveling on I-459. (WBRC)
- The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified a Tuesday morning shooting victim. Demitris Lendell Silliman Jr, 21 years old, was shot and killed in the 1100 block of Penfield Drive near Zion City Road around 1:50 a.m. There have been 158 homicides in Jefferson County this year. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers. (AL.com)
- The City of Hoover will be hosting a Community Development & Safety Training Session on Nov. 8 at the Hoover Public Library Theatre. The training is free to attend and is open to anyone associated with developmental disabilities. The training will cover a variety of topics such as developing a Safety Action Plan and safely interacting with the police. (City of Hoover)
