Louisiana Pair Arrested In Hoover With Stolen Property

A traffic stop in Hoover resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy after stolen property was found.

HOOVER, AL — A pair of Louisiana residents were arrested by Hoover police after a traffic stop and subsequent vehicle search yielded stolen property. The arrests were made just after 1 a.m. Wednesday near Tyler Crest Lane.

Sgt. Daniel Lowe of the Hoover Police Department said officers stopped the vehicle, which they found was reported stolen. Upon a search of the vehicle, officers located a stolen handgun, illegal narcotics and numerous identifying and financial documents belonging to several unrelated people.

The juvenile was transferred to the Jefferson County Family Court system and the driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Jermone Brown, was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail Thursday.

Both are charged with marijuana possession, receiving stolen property and trafficking in stolen identities. The juvenile faces additional weapons charges.
