- Jonathan Wade Copeland, a Shelby County man, was charged with indecent exposure for the seventh time on Jan. 10. This time, the 39-year-old was across the street from Brookwood Baptist Medical Center where he exposed himself from an apartment balcony which he gained access to and was vacant. The victim who witnessed the act was 20 years old. Copeland, a registered sex offender, was charged with indecent exposure and third-degree burglary. (AL.com)
- According to a recent study by Moneygeek using County Health Rankings, the life expectancy in Alabama — and Hoover — is lower than almost anywhere else in the country. The life expectancy in Birmingham-Hoover is 74.6; however, the lowest age at 74.4 went to Jackson, Mississippi. The average expectancy in the United States is 76.1. (AL.com)
- Rush Propst, the former Hoover High School football coach, has returned to Alabama football. Propst is now the assistant head coach and athletic director in Gadsen at Coosa Christian. The coach left Hoover in 2008. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
