  1. Four new food spots have recently opened in the local area, and more are coming soon! Hoover's Magic Milkshakes & More opened its doors on Dec. 17 and serves crowd-favorites including waffle sundaes and delectable milkshakes. The eatery is located at 2801 John Hawkins Pkwy, Suite 157-O and is open daily from 3:00-9:00 p.m. Click the link to view the full list of new spots in the area. (Bham Now)
  2. Central Alabama plumbers experienced a busy holiday weekend due to the extreme weather. Patrick Sullivan, the owner of Champion Plumbing and Remodeling, says he answered 14 different calls on Christmas Eve and several additional calls on Christmas Day — including a call from a home in Hoover. To avoid breaking pipes, Sullivan recommends running your heat, letting your faucet drip, and opening your cabinet doors. He also recommends getting any exposed pipes wrapped since more cold weather is likely. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  3. The Hoover Police Department shared some tips to stop thieves during the holidays. To prevent crime, don't leave empty boxes at the curb or let packages sit on your doorstep.
