Pharmacy Robbery In Hoover Under Investigation

Hoover Police say an armed robbery occurred Friday at Walgreen's Pharmacy on Ross Bridge Parkway.

HOOVER, AL — Hoover Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Walgreen's pharmacy in Hoover Friday. The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. at the Walgreen's at 5271 Ross Bridge Parkway.

The Hoover 911 center received a call of a robbery in progress at the Walgreen's after a customer in the drive-thru line noticed a suspect with a gun inside the pharmacy.

Responding officers saw a man fitting the description of the suspect running along some nearby railroad tracks and set up a perimeter, Capt. Keith Czeskleba of the Hoover PD said.

Deer Valley Elementary School was placed on lock-down as a precaution, which delayed afternoon dismissal until approximately 4 p.m. Police then suspended the search, believing the suspect was no longer in the area. The suspect remains at large.
