- A Hoover man was arrested on Monday after fentanyl was found in his car during a traffic stop on I-85. According to an arrest affidavit, an Alabama state trooper pulled over 42-year-old Ryan White near exit 16 after noticing he failed to maintain a single lane. White was in possession of 4.3 grams of fentanyl — enough to kill up to 2,100 people, according to the DEA. (WSFA)
- On Tuesday, Shelby County schools held active shooter training. The school district teamed up with a number of law enforcement agencies and first responders — including Hoover Police — to put together their largest active shooter trainer in years, which was held during the Christmas break. “We know that when a critical incident happens, we’re going to fall to our level of training, and that’s why training is so important,” said Lt. Nathan Kendrick with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
