Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:

  1. Do you recognize this person? The Hoover Police Department is looking for a suspect who is wanted for questioning in a fraudulent use of credit card felony case that occurred on Aug. 31. Anybody with information is asked to contact Hoover Detective James Davis at (205) 444-7624. Click to see a photo of the suspect. (HooverPD)
  2. On Wednesday, the City of Hoover held a grand reopening for Georgetown Park. Various locations throughout the park were completely overhauled, with $70,000 spent on the improvements. Some notable improvements include new decking around the park, new lumber on the gazebo, and refurbished benches. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  3. A retailer with multiple stores in Hoover was honored as one of the “Retailers of the Year.” Eleven businesses were honored with this title on Wednesday by the Alabama Retail Association, including Ashley McMakin, founder and chief executive officer of Ashley Mac’s. Ashley Mac's, a fast-casual café, catering, and gourmet-to-go business with multiple Birmingham locations and two in Hoover, is Alabama’s Retailer of the Year in the annual sales $5 Million to $20 Million category.
