Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:
- The Hoover City Council approved a $3 million road and damn repair project. The repairs are meant to fix Lake Forest Circle that was damaged during heavy rains in Oct. 2021. The dam and property under the road are owned by Riverchase Country Club, but the entity is unable to pay for the repairs. The city will be covering the costs due to a sanitary sewer line that lies within the dam. (Hoover Sun)
- A new restaurant has opened in Hoover. Biscuit Belly features every kind of biscuit imaginable. The new location is at 1031 Brock's Gap Pkwy. Biscuit Belly will operate Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from Friday to Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You can view their menu here. (Bham Now)
- The Jefferson County Coroner reports high concern regrading drug overdoses. According to Coroner Bill Yates, the issue has a far-reaching impact that continues to climb in Jefferson County. The Jefferson County Health Department has been using the Overdose Data to Action grant to address the crisis but the death rate continues to rise in the county. (1819 News)

- In case you missed it: The Hoover Beauty Board will be hosting its 24th Annual Arbor Day Celebration on Feb. 25 at Aldridge Gardens from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a free event. (City of Hoover)
- The Hoover Police Department is encouraging residents to participate in the "9PM Routine." To participate, remove valuables from vehicles, turn security systems on, and lock doors at 9:00 p.m. each night. (Hoover (AL) Police Department via Facebook)
