- The Hoover Police Department reports that the officer struck by gunfire on Sunday is expected to survive. The incident occurred at a local apartment complex after reports were made about a suspect shooting another vehicle on Interstate 459 Sunday morning. The department reports that the shooting suspect is in custody at this time. (Alabama Daily News)
- The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified the two individuals that were killed on Sunday morning outside a nightclub. Carlos Antonio Stewart, 43, and Cornelius Quinterryo Kennedy, 26, were shot in the 100 block of Third Avenue North. The initial investigation indicates that the shooting was the result of an argument that occurred at a food truck outside Empire Club. (AL.com)
- Alabama has stopped accepting applications for its Mortgage Assistance program. Residents in almost every county in the state have received housing support through the program. In total, 2,808 households have utilized the program. In Jefferson County, 369 applications applied for the program. (AL.com)
