Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:

1. Hoover's football team will be advancing to the Class 7A semifinals after defeating Hewitt-Trussville. The game's final score was 28-11. Hoover will be playing Thompson in the semifinal round. This is the fourth consecutive season Hoover and Thompson have played against each other in the Class 7A semifinals. (1819 News)
2. The Jefferson County Commission will be sworn in on Wednesday, Nov. 16. The ceremony will be held on the second floor of the downtown County Courthouse at 10:00 a.m. There will be a brief meeting after the swearing-in ceremony. The county will be streaming the meeting through its social media accounts. (Jefferson County)
3. The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Jefferson County. The warning was issued for last night and remains in effect through 9:00 a.m. this morning. The freezing temperatures have the potential to kill vulnerable vegetation and burst exposed outdoor piping. (NWS Birmingham)
