The future of Huntsville is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Alton Hudson, who are making a positive impact in and around Huntsville.

Alton, a junior at the University of Alabama (UA) and a native of Huntsville, is making waves as a standout young leader. Recently named to the 2025 class of Capitol Scholars, Alton is one of 16 exceptional students selected from across the University of Alabama System. This highly competitive program offers an immersive summer internship in Washington, D.C., where participants engage with congressional offices, policy experts and government agencies to develop leadership skills and gain firsthand experience in governmental affairs.

Beyond his accomplishments in the Capitol Scholars Program, Alton’s academic achievements at UA are remarkable. A political science major with a music minor, he has consistently earned recognition on the President’s and Dean’s List, demonstrating a strong commitment to both his studies and extracurricular passions. As an inaugural Shelby Scholar and member of the prestigious Million Dollar Band, Alton exemplifies the leadership, discipline and creativity that continue to bring distinction to Huntsville and The University of Alabama.
