- To answer calls for help, the Mobile Police Department will be offering free services to those affected by the downtown shooting on New Year’s Eve. The department will be offering counseling and crisis intervention resources to help the community cope with the aftermath of the incident. MPD Victim Advocate Stacey Woodyard said, “Places like Alta Pointe, Mobile County Health Department, Behavioral Health, Lifeline Counseling Center, they're going to have resources there. If they need to step away and talk with someone, someone is going to be available to them.” (NBC 15 WPMI)
- On Saturday morning, the City of Mobile hosted a Kids Day event at Trimmier Park. The event, which began last year and continued due to popularity, offered fun activities for children, including power wheels races. Marissa Pritchard with the parks and recreation department said, “This will be our second year doing the quarterly Kids Days. We will continue this because the kids in our community are so important.” (Fox 10 News)
- According to officials with the Mobile Police Department, a car hit an oil change business on Airport Boulevard. Mobile Fire Rescue, EMS, and Mobile Police were at the scene of the crash at Take 5 Oil Change on Sunday. No one was injured in the crash and no damage to the business was found by WKRG News 5.
