- A Mobile County District Attorney's Office investigator has been fired amid allegations of wrongdoing. Deon Thornton has been followed by allegations and complaints since he served as a detective with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office. Thornton has not yet been charged with a crime, and the investigation is being kept tightly under wraps until an official statement can be made. The Attorney General's Office is not involved with the investigation. (Fox 10 News)
- The Mobile City Council has approved an ordinance that will allow medical marijuana dispensaries within city limits. This decision comes after weeks of heated debate on the topic of medicinal marijuana in Mobile. The ordinance was approved with a 5-2 vote on Tuesday evening. A last-minute motion to postpone the decision until February of 2023 was dismissed. (Fox 10 News)
- The "Make A Child Smile" bike giveaway at Walk by Faith Christmas Ministry continues its annual tradition. The Mobile church gives away dozens of new bikes every year, and has been doing so for nearly a decade. The next giveaway will be held on Dec. 23, when 200 bikes will be given away to children who are struggling with poverty. (WKRG News 5)
