- On Tuesday morning, Mobile Police evacuated a Walmart after a bomb threat. At around 10:45 a.m., someone messaged the store along Government Boulevard, however, officers did not report finding any threats. Police have since given the store the green light. (NBC 15 WPMI)
- Unsure of how to dispose of your Christmas tree after the holidays? Bring your tree (free of lights, stands, and decorations) to the City of Mobile's free Christmas Tree drop-off. Trees can be dropped off at Langan Municipal Park off Ziegler Blvd. or at James Seals Park in Downtown Mobile from 7:00 a.m. to 5:99 p.m. until Jan. 15. Mobile residents can also put trees by the road to be picked up on scheduled trash days. (WJTC)
- The annual headcount to help address homelessness in Mobile will begin in January. The count is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and will be conducted by Housing First to understand the scope and nature of homelessness in the area. In 2022, the HUD count reported 585 homeless people in Mobile and Baldwin counties. (WJTC)
