ALDOT To Begin I-20/59 Bridge Repair Work Monday

ALDOT is set to make repairs to damage to the Interstate 20/59 westbound bridge just west of Exit 71 in Tuscaloosa County.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is set to make needed repairs to the Interstate 20/59 westbound bridge just west of Exit 71 in Tuscaloosa County.

The work follows an inspection that found damage caused by an overturned tractor trailer on Jan. 13.

The bridge repair work will commence Monday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and is expected to last one week, weather permitting.

ALDOT says at least one lane on I-20/59 westbound will remain open throughout the repair, but the I-20/59 westbound ramp from I-359 northbound will be closed during working hours.
