Search Continues For Helena Man Reported Missing On Black Warrior River
ALEA says a search is underway for a Helena man who went missing Monday morning after a single-vessel incident on the Black Warrior River.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says a search is underway for a Helena man who went missing Monday morning after a single-vessel incident on the Black Warrior River.

ALEA said Larry James, 47, was last seen operating a boat around 10:30 a.m. that was later found abandoned along the riverbank south of the Lock 8 Boat Landing in Greene County.

Troopers with ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division and Aviation Unit responded to the scene, along with the Tuscaloosa Fire Department’s dive team, for an extensive search and rescue effort.
As of Monday afternoon, ALEA reported that crews had been unable to locate James.
