Two Charged With Murder In 2024 Killing Of Tuscaloosa Man

Two men have been charged with murder in the 2024 killing of a Tuscaloosa man whose body was found inside an apartment last September.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has arrested two men for murder in the 2024 killing of a Tuscaloosa man whose body was found inside a 17th Street apartment last September.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, told local media on Wednesday that Tuscaloosa Police responded to an apartment in the 2900 block of 17th Street around 10 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2024, after the occupant had not been seen for several days.

He said officers found 52-year-old Kevin Washington dead inside, along with evidence that confirmed he had been murdered.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit took over the case but no arrests were made initially.

Kennedy said the investigation remained active for more than a year and recent forensic testing helped confirm several key leads.

He then said investigators obtained warrants for two suspects — Jammie Lee Eatmon, 63, and Lee Anthony Luscious, 56 — who have both been charged with murder and booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond.
