Grzybowski co-founded the Alabama Women’s Hockey Team and serves as president of Dare to Diagnose — an organization of pre-health students that focuses on patient simulations.

As homecoming queen, Grzybowski will select an on-campus passion project to receive a donation from the Homecoming Queen Endowed Fund. She chose Remote Area Medical at UA, the campus chapter of a national organization that provides free dental, vision and medical care through mobile pop-up clinics across the country.

Grzybowski said her drive to pursue medicine and advocate for compassionate care stems from her sister’s experience living with Type 1 diabetes.

“My ‘why’ began when my younger sister was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes,” Grzybowski said. “Walking beside her, I witnessed the power of empathy in helping someone feel seen and supported. That experience ignited my passion for medicine and my belief that compassion is one of the most powerful forms of leadership.”

Grzybowski will be formally crowned during halftime of Saturday’s Alabama-Oklahoma football game, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
