PHOENIX, AZ — A 26-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained in a Wednesday afternoon traffic collision along eastbound McDowell Road in Phoenix, according to a Phoenix police report.

The collision, which occurred inside the intersection of McDowell and 52nd Street, involved a Nissan Altima and a box truck.

The Altima failed to stop for a red light, colliding with the box truck as it was making a left turn onto southbound 52nd Street, police said.

The driver of the Altima, identified as Samantha Bean-Lansman, died on the scene. Bean-Lansman was eight-months pregnant and the unborn fetus did not survive the accident, police said.

The driver of the box truck was uninjured in the collision and remained on the scene of the collision and showed no signs of impairment, police said.
