1 Pedestrian Dead In McDowell Road Collision Tuesday Morning

A 70-year-old woman died after being hit by a car on West McDowell Road in Phoenix Monday night.

PHOENIX, AZ — A woman died Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while crossing McDowell Road in Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The 70-year-old pedestrian died after being taken to a hospital, police said. The collision occurred near the intersection of 67th Avenue and McDowell Road just after 1 a.m., police said.

The driver of the car stayed on the scene and cooperated with officers, and was not arrested or cited, police said. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the collision, police said.
