1 Seriously Injured In West Phoenix Shooting Monday Afternoon

A 14-year-old girl was seriously injured after multiple people inside a pickup truck fired at a residence in Phoenix Monday, police said.

PHOENIX, AZ — A 14-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in a shooting in west Phoenix Monday afternoon, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive, police said.

Police are working to determine the identity of the shooter or shooters and a possible motive.

The shooting occurred just after 2 p.m. near the intersection of Van Buren Street and 67th Avenue, police said. Several men in a pickup truck fired guns at a house, police said.

Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call Phoenix police or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO.
