Here are the top stories today in Phoenix:
- The unions representing Phoenix police and firefighters have joined a lawsuit aiming to nix a federal vaccine mandate impacting millions of workers across the nation. Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich has filed several lawsuits challenging vaccine mandates, but Phoenix police and firefighters just joined one of the suits last week after the City of Phoenix announced vaccination requirements for city workers. - If you're looking to get outside with your family and burn some calories ahead of a heavy Thanksgiving meal, there are plentiful holiday-morning turkey trot options in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Registration for many of the runs is open through Wednesday evening or Thanksgiving morning, prior to the run. (Phoenix Patch)
- Local food banks are making a huge effort to collect and distribute food to families in need ahead of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. St. Mary's Food Bank already handed out food on Monday and will continue giving out its 12,000 turkeys and other Thanksgiving fixings today and Wednesday.
