  1. On Wednesday, the Progressive National Baptist (PNBC) Convention led a march in downtown Phoenix calling for voter protection and police accountability. According to the PNBC Convention, the intent was to "draw attention to voter suppression in America, the fight of Black Americans for economic justice, as well as community police accountability and transparency." The group also honored Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy during the march. PNBC was launched in 1961 during the Civil Rights Movement and promotes accountability, democracy, and demands justice for Black Americans. (Arizona's Family)
  2. In 2022, nearly 200 guns were found — the fifth most in the country — by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport checkpoints, according to federal transportation officials. Last year, the airport tied the record set for 2021 by uncovering 196 firearms during routine screenings of carry-on luggage. Across the nation, TSA discovered 6,542 guns at airports in 2022 — 10 percent higher than the record from a year earlier. (KTAR.com)
  3. A 23-year-old ticket caused a Phoenix woman’s driver’s license to be put on "hold" by the state of Texas. Reba Petters discovered the hold when she went to the Arizona Motor Vehicles Division to change her name — to Reba Marshall — now that she’s tied the knot. According to Petters, who used to live around the Houston area, there were no issues when she moved from Culberson County, TX to Arizona in 2015; however, the state claims her license was put on hold for a Failing to Appear violation from July 2000.
