ALDI To Open First AZ Stores With 2 In Phoenix
The Phoenix metro area will get its first taste of discount grocer ALDI, which is set to open its first Arizona locations Nov. 5.

PHOENIX — As part of its massive expansion efforts, discount grocery store ALDI is opening its first Arizona locations.
The two Phoenix-area locations will be located in Chandler and Goodyear, and will both open Nov. 5. The company said this puts the grocery chain on track to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022. Arizona will be its 37th state.
“We’re thrilled to continue expanding in the Southwest, and we take great pride in reaching this milestone as we open our first Arizona stores,” Tom Cindel, Group Director of Operations and Logistics for ALDI, said in a news release. “Our aggressive growth plans have always been centered around providing as many people as possible the high-quality, affordable groceries they can count on every day. We know easy access to fresh food and household essentials is invaluable, especially now."

The stores will add 40 jobs to the local economy. Job openings can be found on ALDI's website.

ALDI offers quality ingredients at a low price and each store is just 12,000 square feet to make navigating the aisles much easier. More than 90 percent of the products available in stores are exclusive to ALDI.
ALDI previously announced its Phoenix plans in July, pledging to add 70 new stores to its roster by the end of 2020. Four new stores are planned for the Phoenix market.
