- Phoenix police report a body was found inside a container near Cave Creek Road and Carefree Highway. Officers responded to the area on Saturday around 6:45 a.m., when they found the body of an adult inside the container. Authorities have identified the body as that of 39-year-old Jennifer Beede. (AZ Central)
- Local governments and tribes in Arizona are considering rescinding earlier offers to contribute their shares of water to Lake Mead. Last month, the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) near Phoenix said it plans to begin storing water underground. Officials across the Valley, including here in Phoenix, are reportedly considering following suit by asking for their full allotment of water. (East Valley Tribune)
- While this week has started off hot, cooler weather is on the way to the Phoenix area. According to Phoenix National Weather Service Meteorologist Gabriel Lojero, wet conditions are expected in the latter half of the week, particularly between today and Thursday. Lojero adds that higher terrain areas can expect a 60 percent chance of rain, while lower terrain areas will be closer to 30 percent. (KJZZ)
