Box Truck Hits Pedestrian At Bus Stop, Killing 1: Police
The box truck drove the wrong way into traffic and then onto the sidewalk, police said.
PHOENIX, AZ — A pedestrian standing at a bus stop was killed Saturday afternoon when police say a box truck drove onto the sidewalk and hit him.
Javier Saavedra, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 5900 block of South 16th Street, police said in a press release.
The driver of the box truck, 34-year-old Brandon Seymour, was booked into the Maricopa County Jail Sunday on suspicion of murder and drug crimes, according to online jail records.

Around 3:15 p.m. Saturday, Seymour was headed south on 16th Street in a box truck that was pulling a car dolly, according to police. Seymour is accused of driving the truck the wrong way into traffic and then driving up onto to the sidewalk on the east side of 16th Street, hitting a bus stop and Saavedra.
